ASEC Mimosas Arrive In Uyo To Face Rivers United

ASEC Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire have arrived Uyo, the capital city of Akwa Ibom to lock horns with Nigerian top flight champions Rivers United in their second group game of the CAF Confederation Cup.

News of the Ivorian giants’ arrival was made known via the club’s verified Twitter page on Thursday night.

It was noted that the yellow and blacks arrived in Uyo around 4:30 pm having stopped in Lagos the previous night.

In a series of tweets, the club said: “#Actionnaires, the #Mimos have been in Uyo since 4:30 p.m.

Arrived in Lagos yesterday night, the yellow and blacks stopped there before taking off this afternoon to land after a 1h10 min flight at Victor Attah airport in Uyo.

“After a short hour of rest, Coach Felix led a scrubbing session in the gym of Ibom Icon Hotel & Golf Resort, the headquarters of ASEC.

“Recall that the Mimosas are in the capital of Akwa Ibom State to face this Sunday, February 19, the Nigerian formation of Rivers United in a match counting for the 2nd day of the CAF Confederation Cup.”

The game between both sides is scheduled for Sunday, February 19.

Rivers United will be hoping to bounce back from the 3-0 loss they suffered against Diables Noirs of Congo which coach Stanley Eguma attributed to a loss of concentration.
