Newly promoted Bendel Insurance moved seven points clear at the top of the Nigerian top flight table with a win over second-placed Enyimba.

The Benin Arsenals won the encounter by a goal to nil at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City on Sunday evening.

Imade Osehenkhoe goal gave Insurance the hard-fought victory in the 29th minute.

With the result, the Edo-based club extended their unbeaten run in the league this term.

Of the nine games played, Insurance have won seven and drawn just two games.

Bendel Insurance will take the lead at the summit of Group A into the league’s half-time break until after Nigeria’s General Elections.
