Eintracht Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner, believes that serie A leader,Napoli, will play with “ and counter – press aggressively during their Champions League last- 16 first leg on Tuesday

Napoli won five out of their six group-stage games in the Champions League, finishing as group winners ahead of Liverpool.

According to Glasner, Napoli’s style of play is not typical of an Italian team. They are an incredibly balanced side who not only have an exceptional attack but also do not concede many goals. Glasner also noted that they have prepared for Napoli’s aggressive style of play ahead of the game.

Napoli’s coach, Luciano Spalletti, dismissed the idea that his team does not play like an Italian team. He suggested that different teams have different playing styles, but it is difficult to constantly play in the opposing half due to the quality in Europe.

Despite their impressive season so far, with a 15-point lead over second-placed Inter Milan in Serie A and seven straight domestic league wins, Spalletti does not want to get complacent. He disregards compliments and recalls those who did not predict them to be in the top four of Serie A at the start of the season.

Eintracht’s captain, Sebastian Rode, who missed Saturday’s Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen due to illness, trained on his own on Monday and is expected to be in the squad but won’t start. Frankfurt midfielder, Mario Goetze, who was part of the Borussia Dortmund side that reached the 2013 Champions League final, anticipates a “tremendous atmosphere” during the game.

Frankfurt is currently sixth in the Bundesliga standings, five points behind leaders Bayern Munich, and they will need to perform well to progress to the next round of the Champions League.
