In an accident near the Moshalashi Roundabout in the Iyana-Ipaja neighborhood of Lagos, three badly injured victims were saved by agency personnel, according to the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority.
The agency made this announcement on Monday in a statement signed by Mr. Adebayo Taofiq, Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA. In the statement, it was noted that there were three victims—two males and one female—and that the accident’s overspeeding was the likely cause.
One of the passengers who was saved, according to the statement, was discovered in possession of more than 100 baby diapers and a sizable amount of cash. He or she has now been turned over to the police for additional questioning.
The statement read, “Those rescued 3 accident victims were immediately rushed to different Hospitals by their relatives but, unfortunately, one of the rescued accident victims (male) reportedly died along the road to the hospital.
“Those vehicles involved in the accident were immediately removed from the road to avoid impeding the free flow of traffic and handed over to Policemen from Gowon Estate Divisional Police Headquarters for further investigations.
“One of the passengers inside the commercial tricycle involved in the accident was caught with more than 100 pieces of used small children ‘Diapers Pampers’ with a huge sum of money of different denominations was immediately handed over to Policemen at the scene of the accident
