Former Chelsea midfielder, Glenn Hoddle has hailed Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard’s performance in the Gunners’ Premier League 3-1 victory over the Blues on Tuesday night.
Hoddle was impressed with Odegaard, praising the Norwegian’s very clever run and fabulous finish for his first goal against Chelsea.
Odegaard’s two goals and a goal from Gabriel Jesus gave Mikel Arteta’s side the victory over Chelsea at Emirates Stadium.
Odegaard also won the Man-of-the-Match award for his performance during the encounter.
“Look at the time and space [Arsenal] have behind the three midfield players there. You look at [Martin] Odegaard, it is a very, very clever run. He sorts of checks out [for his first goal],” Hoddle said via HITC.
“It is the first time we see [Oleksandr] Zinchenko actually go into a normal left-back position. He picks out a lovely little ball inside. There’s the spare man [Granit Xhaka]. They find him. Nobody has latched onto Odegaard, the ball has passed Kovacic and it is a fabulous finish. Great finish,” he added.
