At least seven people believed to have connections to the terrorist organization Daesh were detained as a consequence of a series of coordinated operations that Turkish security services conducted in Istanbul on Friday.

The operations took place simultaneously at 12 different locations across the province, as authorities intensified their efforts to combat terrorism within the country.
