Protesters scratched out “Bola” from the banner and replaced it with “Ebola,” thereby renaming Nigeria’s President.


The demonstrators took turns slamming the banner images of President Tinubu.

This comes as ECOWAS seeks to confront the coup that deposed Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum’s administration.

President Tinubu dispatched a group to Niger on Thursday that included the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, H.E. Omar Alieu Touray, and General Abdulsalami Abubakar (Retd), a former head of state of Nigeria.

To establish a definitive and peaceful conclusion in Niger, Tinubu advised the delegates to engage all parties intensely.

He emphasised that rather than following the geopolitical viewpoints of other countries, the emphasis should be on democracy and peace
