Due to Mauritius’ withdrawal, Nigeria’s Falconets have secured a spot in the third round of qualifying for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
On Thursday night, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) posted on their official X Twitter that Mauritius had withdrawn.
Prior to today, the Falconets were supposed to play Mauritius the following month.
Mauritius qualified for the second round of the qualifiers after earning a walk overwalkover against Chad.
The NFF on Wednesday announced the composition of a technical crew for the country’s U-20 side.
The Falconets made it to the quarter-finals at the last edition of the World Cup.
Two teams will represent Africa at the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.
