The Kogi State local government council chairman, Muhammad Danasabe Muhammad, passed away.
At 4:30 in the morning, a hospital in the state capital of Lokoja declared Muhammad dead. The Council Chairman was taken to the hospital following his collapse at his residence.
In advance of the state’s governorship election on Saturday, he was alleged to have visited a number of political events.
According to a family source who talked with Daily Trust, he was brought to Shifa Hospital in Lokoja immediately after collapsing in the residence in the late hours of Thursday.
The individual who spoke on the condition of anonymity said, “Doctors confirmed him clinically dead around 4.30 a.m. on Friday.”
The deceased was from Lokoja’s ward B in the cantonment area. After Friday’s Juma’at prayer, he will be buried at the Unguwan Kura Muslim cemetery.
On Friday morning, sympathisers were allegedly spotted flocking into his family residence in Lokoja’s cantonment area to console the family following his untimely death.
