The acting Governor of Ondo, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has been sworn in as the substantive Governor of the state.

The Chief Judge of the state administered the oath of office to him in Akure on Wednesday.

 

 

It was  earlier reported that the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu passed away in the early hours of Wednesday.

 

 

 

Plans were thereafter put in place to swear in the acting governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, as governor following the death of Akeredolu.

 

 

It was gathered that Aiyedatiwa was in his hometown for the Christmas break when the news of the governor’s death broke, and he arrived at the state capital, Akure for the swearing-in.
