Liverpool interested in signing James Rodriguez

Liverpool football club have turned their sites someplace else and now want to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, who is currently on loan at Bayern Munich, according to reports in Don Balon.

The Merseysiders are understood to view the Colombia international as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho, who joined Barcelona for a British record transfer fee earlier in the January transfer window and it seems to make sense but would it be a good replacement plan?

However, with Rodriguez currently midway through his first season at Bayern Munich having agreed a two-year loan switch last summer from Real Madrid, Liverpool may be left disappointed and blown away in their hopes of landing the player if the Bundesliga champions refuse to send him back to the Madrid club a year early.

James Rodriguez has turned things around since joining Bayern Munich on loan from Real Madrid and is attracting attention from Europe’s top clubs.

Although he has made it clear he has no plans of returning to Real Madrid but the Spanish giants still hold the key if anything is going to happen.
