Warrant of Arrest Issued for the Arrest, Detention of Innoson Motors Boss, Chukwuma by a Lagos Judge

A Warrant for the arrest of the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Innoson Vehicle Manufacturer (IVM), Chief Innocent Chukwuma, has been issued by a Lagos High Court, on Friday for his arrest and detention.

 

A Lagos High Court Sitting in the Ikeja area presided over by Justice Mojisola Dada issued the warrant for the arrest against, Innocent Chukwuma, who owns the vehicle manufacturing plant in the eastern part of Nigeria, for failing to appear before the court to face his trial.

 

Justice Mojisola Dada ordered that Mr Chukwuma should be arrested and brought to court on the next adjourned date of March 14.

 

December last year, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) boss confirmed to journalists that the C.E.O of Innosons Motors and his brother was arrested for alleged involvement in a N1.4bn fraud. His arrest raised a lot of uproar and was later released by the EFCC on bail.

 

According to the letter by the Head of Legal and Prosecution for the EFCC, A.B.C. Ozioko, dated November 30, the commission noted that the allegations against him were bordering on conspiracy to obtain property by false pretence, obtaining property by false pretence, stealing and forgery.

 

Innosons CEO, Mr Chukwuma, however, failed to show up at the Lagos High Court sitting in Ikeja on Wednesday, January 17 for his arraignment on fraud allegations.
