Liverpool drop interest in Thomas Lemar Chase

Liverpool FC has reportedly ended their interest in Monaco winger, Thomas Lemar.

The France international is no longer among Jurgen Klopp’s list of transfer targets for the summer window, according to the Liverpool Echo and dailymail.

The 22-year-old had been seen as a potential replacement for Philippe Coutinho last month after his £145m move to Barcelona.

Reports in France this week claimed Lemar had turned down a new deal at the Ligue 1 club, fueling further debate over his future.

But Liverpool, it appears, have pulled out of the race to sign him, handing Premier League rivals Arsenal a huge boost as well as a host of other clubs circling around the player.

The Reds held talks with Monaco in August, attempting to thrash out a late deal for the youngster, but were unable to agree on a fee.

And despite sanctioning the departure of Coutinho in January, Klopp opted against making another go at bringing Lamar to England as they feel his valuation at £90M is way too much.
