Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Ibe Kachikwu says the importance of the Petroleum Industry Bills and other of such Bills currently undergoing public hearing by a joint committee of the National Assembly cannot be over emphasized.

 

 

Dr. Kachikwu made the remarks today at the second session(day) of the public hearing on the ‘Petroleum Industry Fiscal Framework Bill, Petroleum Host Community Bill and the Petroleum Industry Administration Bill.

 

 

According to Kachikwu, limitation of powers of the Minister, Independent Commission put in place, supervisory roles and Transparency (payment disclosure) were some of the issues of concern the Bills are meant to address.
