Ekiti State Governor Kayode Fayemi tests positive for COVID 19


Governor of Ekiti state Dr Kayode John Fayemi has tested positive for corona virus.

Fayemi who today made the announcement via his twitter handle said he had delegated the critical schedules to the deputy governor for now, while stating that he would still be attending to his routine schedules while in isolation.

“I took my third Covid-19 test yesterday and it came back positive.

“I’m generally ok and I’m already self isolating at home and receiving the best of care from my medical team.

“I’m delegating critical tasks to my Deputy but will continue routine duty from home.”

Governor Fayemi joins the list of Nigerian governors who had tested for the virus amongst whom are Nasir El Rufai of Kaduna state, Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state, David Umahi of Ebonyi state, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state as well as Seyi Makinde of Oyo state.
