39 years old Adewale Adeyemo who worked under President Barack Obama administration as one of his senior international economic adviser also, the first President of the Obama Foundation may be the next USA Deputy Treasury Secretary according to US media. The position is equivalent to Deputy Minister of Finance
According to the report, if confirmed Adewale will be deputy to Janet Yellen former Federal Reserve Chair, who Biden is likely to appoint to be the next US Secretary of Treasury.
Adewale Adeyemo was born in Nigeria in 1981 but moved to California in USA at a young age, where he obtained all his education.
He got his first degree from the University of California, Berkeley and his second degree in Law from Yale Law School.
Before working under Obama’s administration, he worked as editor for the Hamilton Project, as senior advisor and deputy chief of staff to Jack Lew for United States Department of Treasury.
He was appointed chief negotiator for the Trans-Pacific Partnership and also serve as the first chief of staff for the Consumers Financial Protection Bureau under Elizabeth Warren.
He was also, appointed to serve as the first Deputy National Security Advisor for International Economic from 2015-2016, and deputy director of the National Economic Council.
When confirmed, it would be in the record as the first African, Nigerian-American to have occupied that highest level in the USA Government in the 244 years history of the United States of America.
