The Lagos State Environment and Special Offences Unit (taskforce) have seized over 2,000 motorcycles, which will be crushed at Alausa tomorrow morning, according to the agency.

Another 2,228 bikes were seized for operating on highways in six Local Government Areas and associated Council Development Areas, in violation of the ban.

Prior to the ban’s implementation on June 1, security services cracked down on disobedient cyclists on major highways, particularly between Toyota and Mile Two bus stops on the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Cappa to Agege on the Abeokuta Expressway, and major intersections in Surulere and Lagos Island.
