Sanwo-Olu, IGP, Amnesty International condemn killing of Lagos female lawyer

In the case of the lawyer who was shot and killed by a police officer on Christmas Day, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has promised that justice will be served quickly.

On Christmas Day, Bolanle Raheem was out with her family when a police officer stopped their car and fired before they could park, hitting the lawyer in front of her family.

The police officer is attached to the Ajiwe Police Station in Ajah, Lagos State, according to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba.

According to a statement released by CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP who described the incident as unfortunate and sad, has ordered speedy investigation and prosecution of the officers responsible for the ugly and unprofessional act, which doesn’t portray the Nigeria Police Standard Operating Procedure and core values.

The Amnesty International also condemned the killing in an official statement on Instagram
