The Spokesman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Femi Fani-Kayode, has urged US President Joe Biden to “pick up the phone” and congratulate Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu.
Amid the congratulatory messages pouring in for Tinubu, the US is yet to add its voice and Fani-Kayode took to his Twitter page to express his displeasure.
According to the APC chieftain, Tinubu is the President-elect of Africa’s biggest and most advanced nation whether Biden congratulates him or not.
While acknowledging that the American State Department and the American Ambassador to Nigeria both congratulated the President-elect, FFK stated that it is time for Biden to do the same.
“Whether @JoeBiden calls to congratulate him or not @officialABAT is the President-elect of the biggest, richest, most populous, most advanced & most enlightened nation in Africa & the Western world’s biggest trading partner on the continent.
“They need us as much as we need them.
“Yes, the American State Department and the American Ambassador to Nigeria both congratulated Asiwaju.
“For this, we are eternally grateful & it reflects a measure of respect.
“However it’s time for Joe to pick up the phone & add his voice. We are a big nation: we deserve no less”, the post reads.
