Relegation-threatened Real Valladolid stunned crowned Champions in a 3-1 victory to make it a second consecutive loss after winning La Liga.

Barca have now lost two consecutive games after clinching the La Liga title with a 4-2 win over Espanyol.

They lost 2-1 to Real Sociedad and now 3-1 to Valladolid.

The match got off to a dramatic start when Barcelona defender Andreas Christensen inadvertently scored an own goal, heading the ball past his own keeper in the second minute while attempting to clear a dangerous cross.

The unexpected setback put the visitors on the back foot right from the beginning.

Valladolid capitalized on their early advantage and was soon awarded a penalty after Eric Garcia’s tackle on Gonzalo Plata.

Canadian forward Cyle Larin confidently converted the spot-kick, extending Valladolid’s lead to 2-0.

The home team continued to dominate the match and added a third goal in the 73rd minute through Plata.

However, the goal was initially subjected to a Video Assistant Referee (VAR) check for a potential offside infringement.

After a thorough review, the referee confirmed the validity of the goal, much to the delight of the Valladolid faithful.

Barcelona, despite their best efforts, struggled to find their rhythm throughout the game.

It was only in the dying minutes that they managed to pull one back, courtesy of Polish striker Robert Lewandowski.

With the goal, Lewandowski increased his season tally to an impressive 23 goals, securing the position of La Liga’s top scorer.

Real Valladolid’s victory proved to be a lifeline in their battle against relegation.

The win propelled them one place up the table, now sitting in 17th position, out of immediate danger.

With two matches remaining, Valladolid, owned by the legendary former Real Madrid and Brazil forward Ronaldo, will face Almeria and Getafe, both embroiled in their own fights to avoid the drop.

Meanwhile, elsewhere in LaLiga, fourth-placed Real Sociedad continued their pursuit of a Champions League spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Almeria.

The Basque side now has an opportunity to secure their place in Europe’s elite competition for next season if fifth-placed Villarreal fails to collect points in their upcoming fixture against Cadiz on Wednesday.
