The insurance company William Russell created the list, which ranks the 38 nations that make up the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and is based on information from the Global Passport Fees 2023 list.
Australia is the country that costs the most, with an adult passport costing £192.
Mexico is the second most expensive country, with citizens charged £142 for a passport.
Switzerland is third with a passport charge of £117 per adult, while an Italian passport is fourth on the list for £113.
In the United States of America, an adult is charged £109
in New Zealand (£107),
in Chile (£106)
and in Canada (£104).
Japan falls under the £100 mark with a £96 charge while
Turkey is priced at £92.
The UK shares 12th place with Greece, as both countries charge citizens £84 for an adult passport.
Luxembourg on the other hand costs far less at £50
Swedish passport is the cheapest at £38.
