Ademola Adeleke, the governor of Osun State, has urged the state’s Muslims to recommit themselves to their creator on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir feast.

Adeleke also urged them to spread love through cheerful giving, identifying obedience as key to unlocking the unending grace of Allah.

The Governor made this call in an Eid-el-Kabir statement made available by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed on Wednesday.

According to the statement, “I congratulate the Muslim Ummah and the entire Osun citizens on the auspicious occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

“I call on Muslim faithfuls to use the occasion of the Eidil Adha celebration to renew a sense of sacrifice and brotherhood. The lesson inherent in the act of Prophet Ibrahim (ASWM) is that there is reward in obedience.

“I urge all Muslims to continue to live in peace and harmony with their fellow brothers, while coexisting peacefully with people of other faiths.”

The Osun Governor also encouraged the Muslim ummah to exhibit the lessons of Eid-el-Kabir which includes, faith, patience, love and sacrifices

“As I restate the determination of his administration to create a just, harmonious and prosperous state for all and sundry, I assure you that a better Osun state beckons under me.

“Let me assure you that we are going to continue with measures of better welfare for the citizens of our state and most significantly, our workers.

“With the developmental strides we’ve embarked on so far in the state, I want to give further assurance of more unprecedented development to take place in the nooks and corners of Osun State,” he said.

The Governor, who stressed the importance of harmony, enjoined citizens to tolerate one another and live peacefully.

He noted that development and progress were only possible in a peaceful environment.

Also, the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Adewale Egbedun has called on Muslims to reflect on the lessons of strong faith, selfless act, obedience and total submission to the will of God.

Speaker Egbedun also asked the citizens to make sacrifices that will develop the state for good.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tiamiyu Olamide, Egbedun stated that, “I also wish to use this medium to convey to you that as your representative and Speaker, I will continue to be your voice and push for measures and programs that seek to provide employment, quality education, accessible health care as well as initiatives for the betterment and growth of our dear State.

“In that regard, we must all be ready to contribute our quota by paying taxes and engaging in activities that will only add values to the state.

“Osun is our collective heritage, and just as Prophet Ibrahim (ASWM) and Prophet Ismael (ASWM) showed faith in Allah and adhered to his command, we must be prepared to make whatever sacrifices that are needed in advancing the process and development of our dear state.”
