On Friday, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan conveyed Turkey’s unshakeable commitment to peace at the request of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Black Sea grain agreement was the main topic of discussion between the two leaders. The arrangement has run into problems because Russia refused to renew it without fulfilling certain conditions.

The agreement, which was previously mediated by the UN and Turkey, aimed to ease the world’s food crisis by permitting the transfer of grain in a secure manner from Black Sea ports, particularly those that had been impacted by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to reports, President Erdogan reassured President Zelenskyy that his country remains fully committed to striving for peace in the region.
