According to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chapter in Abia State, the state is still benefiting from the previous governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration.

This was said in a statement made by the party’s acting publicity secretary, Abraham Amah, and vice chairman Abia North.

According to Amah: “Abia State was this week declared the winner of the 2022 Gold Badge Award given to deserving states by the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, NPHCDA, under its Primary Health Care Under One Roof programme.”

He added that the programme is a reform agenda aimed at reversing fragmentation in primary health care delivery at the state level by bringing management, resources, financing, and other operational responsibilities under the State Primary Health Care Board.

The reform was implemented under Ikpeazu’s watch as governor of Abia State.

The PDP chieftain noted that Abia was the only state that scored 100 per cent among the 36 states of the federation.

According to the party, the latest award has dispelled the wrongful characterization of Ikpeazu’s administration as evil, saying that the former governor has been vindicated.

Meanwhile, Onyebuchi Ememanka, the former Chief Press Secretary to former Governor Ikpeazu, has advised the present administration in the state to stop blaming Ikpeazu for every problem in the state.

In a statement he signed, Ememanka urged Governor Alex Otti’s administration to focus on its job of governing the state instead of blaming the past administration.
