Children in Gaza are in a terrible situation as a result of the ongoing violence, which UNICEF MENA called attention to.

We are outraged by the images coming out of Gaza, it read. There were many children among the victims, and 1 million people had nowhere to go that was secure. This is wrong, and the violence needs to end now.

The group underlines the severe toll this crisis is taking on the youngest members of society with a focus on the mental health and general wellbeing of children.

Children are no longer isolated from emotional scars and physical pain, but instead live in a constant state of fear and anxiety.

Over 500 children are among the 1,537 Palestinians who have died in Israeli attacks over the past week, according to official statistics.

It is yet unclear how many children in Israel have been impacted, but it is certain that the number of children affected is growing.

UNICEF MENA stresses the urgent need for humanitarian relief due to the violence, extensive displacement, and mental upheaval, as hundreds of thousands of children are in desperate need of care and protection.
