An irate mob killed an unnamed guy by lynching him on Friday in the A.A Koto neighborhood of Akwanga, Nasarawa State, accusing him of stealing a motorcycle.
The victim was charged with stealing a Bajaj motorcycle, according to Bawa Kyuni, a local who confirmed the event to DAILY POST.
However, the enraged mob took matters into their own hands and beat the supposed thief till he passed away rather than reporting him to the authorities.
Kyuni remarked, “He was thrashed until he died.
Another local citizen who saw the incident reported that local police officers were powerless to stop the mob from lynching the alleged robber.
An official response from the Nasarawa State Police Command could not be obtained as of the time this article was filed.
Sources revealed that Nigerian Army soldiers were dispatched to the incident site to restore order and supervise the removal of the deceased’s remains.
