In the Merseyside derby this past Saturday, Mohamed Salah scored twice to lead Liverpool to a 2-0 victory over Everton.

Although Everton was reduced to 10 men when Ashley Young was dismissed from the game in the 37th minute for two bookable offenses, the first half was largely uneventful.

The Toffees were under increased pressure as a result in the second half, and they fell down on the stroke of 75 when Salah successfully converted a penalty following a handball by Michael Keane.

Then, in injury time, Salah scored again to close out the match, sweeping home after good work by Darwin Nunez.

The win ends Liverpool’s run of two games without a win and moves Liverpool to the top of the Premier League table, however briefly.
