Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Chief Sunny Onuesoke asserted that people criticizing Arise Television’s Rufai Oseni are ignorant of his skills as a talk show host as Oseni has consistently called out their hypocrisy.

Onuesoke made this statement on Friday in Delta State in reaction to criticism of Oseni’s interviewing manner, which has received criticism.

He insisted that the bulk of those who hate the TV host are conceited, common people who hate his intelligence because it draws attention to their flaws.

The PDP leader says that Arise should only entertain people whose intelligence is greater than their disposition.

The PDP leader added, “Rufai disturbs them by revealing their shortcomings and hypocrisy through his inquiries.

“They fight back with insults. Arise should only invite guests whose level of intelligence is higher than their temperament.

“Oftentimes, the belligerent guests are those who get annoyed by deep probing questions they have no meaningful answers to.

“Am watching arise today is because of Rufai, He is truthful. He can dig out a question that can make some politician crazy, He said it the way it is without minding who you are.

“He is a well-composed and educated journalist, He speaks almost the mind of people.”

Regarding Oseni’s qualifications, Onuesoke stated that he is a young, intelligent, well-traveled, powerful, and knowledgeable individual who has served as a BBC Bristol Analyst on African Issues since 2014.

Onuesoke added further, “Rufai has been a featured guest speaker at top Ivy League towers including Cambridge University and the University of Sussex, amongst others. Rufai is a toastmaster par excellence.

“He has moderated panel sessions for various ministries of the Nigerian government and the government of Mauritius.

“He is a passionate teacher and has taught the English Language at the National Open University of Nigeria’s various study centres.

“He has a network of over 5000 Nigerian students he mentors across Nigerian universities.”
