Dr. Olatunji on the TV program emphasized that school-aged children between the ages of 5 and 14 will receive a single Mebendazole tablet to be administered by school teachers noting that the treatment aims to combat Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH), including Whipworm, Roundworm, and Hookworm.

Allaying the fear of Oyo state citizens from misconception, He stressed that the use of this tablet is deemed safe, and will contribute to addressing issues such as malnutrition, illness, and truancy.

He however encouraged parents to permit their children to participate in this program. He also added that even children not attending school can access the treatment by visiting nearby schools.

He advocated for the adoption of ‘WASH’ principles, promoting clean water, sanitation, and hygiene. This includes handwashing, maintaining a clean environment, and avoiding open defecation for the betterment of society.
