As Arsenal looks to add a striker during the January transfer window, Nigerian midfielder John Ogu thinks that award-winning forward Victor Boniface is the real deal.

The seasoned midfielder, who played for Nigeria in the 2018 World Cup, said that Boniface had the qualities the London team will need to contend for titles early in the season.

With Gabriel Jesus beginning to nurse a series of injuries at the Emirates Arsenal has not been at their best in front of goal.

Five teams in the Premier League have scored more goals than Arsenal. This would not be good enough if Arsenal were to compete with Manchester City for the League crown.

With Boniface, Arsenal have quality, character and fear factor combined as this is the makeup the club needs to get to the top of the podium.

Following Jesus’s injury, Eddie Nketiah has come in to replace the Brazilian in the attack. But Arsenal need more of a world-class phenomenon to get the job done in transition and that’s why Ogu would be speaking when he stated that

Ogu, a confessed Gunners fan, wrote on his Twitter account: “Dear Arsenal, don’t sleep on Boniface. Our solution.”

Boniface has already amassed seven goals and six assists in all completions for Bayer Leverkusen this season including his Penalty goal that sealed the 1-0 win over Qarabag SK in the Europa League.

And what a record he’s got as a new signing in Germany as he currently has the most attempts on goal in the Bundesliga.
