Presidency hails APC’s Usman Ododo on election victory

The President has congratulated Usman Ododo, the incoming governor of Kogi State, on his election victory on November 11.

This was announced on X, formerly Twitter, by Bayo Onanuga, the Tinubu Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.

The All Progressives Congress candidate for governor, Ododo, defeated Muri Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party and Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party.

On Sunday, Prof. Johnson Urama, the Returning Officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission, announced Ododo as the election’s victor.

 

Ododo secured 446,237 votes, to defeat his closest rival, Murtala Ajaka of the Social Democratic Party, who polled 259,052.

Reacting, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy wrote on X, “Congrats to APC candidate Usman Ododo for winning the Kogi governorship election.

“He beats the closest rival, SDP Candidate Muri Ajaka by over 187,000 votes.”
