Our country is falling into judicial banditry – Kano residents

Some state citizens referred to Abba Kabir Yusuf’s dismissal as “judicial banditry” after the Court of Appeal’s decision on the Kano gubernatorial dispute on Friday.

A few of them claimed they had lost trust in the nation’s legal system “because everybody saw us turn out to vote.”

“We are not going to fight or kill one another, but we will not vote again,” declared one businessman.

Some went so far as to burn their voter card, declaring that it was invalid.

The air was sad sober for most who are beginning to lose faith that the Supreme court’s ruling will be any different.

“They just want to rob us of our choice. Look at Kawo road, it was in a terrible situation for over 8 years, but their APC administration did nothing.”

“Look at it now, no bumps, it is almost complete,” one lady bitterly complained.

Another, Musbahu said “They are just doing this to us because of Ganduje feud with Kwankwaso, but they know we did but vote for them.”

Another Muhammad said “If this injustice is confirmed, there will be no point taking any offenders to court, all the ruling just depends on how much you have to give. This is just robbing the people.”

But Muhammad was enthusiastic, he thinks the Supreme Court could do Justice, which according to him is “respecting people’s choice.”
