Barcelona finished on top of Champions League Group H despite slipping to a shock 3-2 defeat to Royal Antwerp in a dramatic contest at the Bosuilstadion.

With Nigerian talents like Alhassan Yusuf and Chidera Ejuke starting the match, Barcelona were in for a tough night in Belgium.

The home side took the 1-0 lead very early in the match as Arthur Vermeeren scored in the 2nd minute. Barcelona went in search of an immediate response but could not find the goal to equalize at that moment.

But it then took the Catalans’ side about 35th minutes to get back on level terms. The goal came as Ferran Torres scored to make it 1-1. Torres was assisted by Lamine Yamal.

It finished 1-1 at the break. But the home side were determined to make history as they took a 2-1 lead in the 56th minutes thanks to a goal from Vincent Janssen.

Janssen was assisted by Nigeria midfield player Alhassan Yusuf. It looked as if the match would end in a 2-1 score line but there was time for a late twist in the game.

Barcelona got the equalizer in the 90+1 minutes thanks to a goal from Marc Guiu who was assisted by Ikay Gundogan.

But the Antwerp side confirmed their ambitions as they scored in the 90+2 minute to seal a 3-2 win over Barcelona. Antwerp’s winner came courtesy of a goal from George Ilenikhena.
