After being held captive for three days, Emmanuel John Echeofun, the media advisor to Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, was liberated from captivity in Abuja.

On Tuesday evening, December 12, 2023, Echeofun was kidnapped while traveling from the National Assembly to his home in Gwagwalada.

A family source said that the kidnappers are demanding N15 million ransom for his release.

“They gave us till 10am today (Wednesday) to provide the money or they will kill him,” the source said.

Echeofun confirmed his release in a Facebook post on Friday, December 15.

“God brought me back safely and in one piece after three days in kidnappers’ den. To Him alone be all the glory! I will give the details much later,” he wrote.
