FG appoints 46 new directors for aviation agencies

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development,  Festus Keyamo, recently announced the appointment of new directors for various aviation agencies under the ministry. These appointments aim to bolster the aviation sector and elevate the standards of service delivery.

 

 

The new appointments encompass a wide array of expertise and experience to oversee critical areas within the aviation agencies. The Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) has seen the appointment of Prof. Vincent Obi as the Director of Weather Services, while Prof. Odjugo Akpodiogaga takes charge of Research and Training. Onyegbule Amarachi has been appointed as the Director of Applied Meteorological Services, and Abdulkareem Olayinka as the Director of Engineering and Technical Services. Funke Arowojobe is tasked with Public Affairs and Consumer Protection.

 

 

The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has also witnessed significant changes with the appointment of Balang Godwin as the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards, Yinka Boboye as the Director of Transport Regulations, and Capt. Donald Spiff as the Director of Operations, Licensing, and Training. These appointments are intended to enhance regulatory oversight and operational efficiency within the NCAA.

 

Furthermore, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has seen the induction of Muonemeh Lotenna as the Director of Finance and Accounts, John Tayo as the Director of Operations, and Abi Nola Ladi as the Director of Human Resources and Administration. These appointments aim to ensure seamless and safe air navigation for all airspace users.

 

 

The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) has also undergone pivotal changes, with the appointment of Abdulahi Babanya to handle Engineers Services, Odita Francis to oversee Operations, and Nwobu Patrick to lead Transport and Investigation. These appointments are poised to enhance the investigative capacity of the bureau and strengthen safety measures within the aviation industry.

 

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has bolstered its leadership team with the appointment of directors across various domains, such as Engineering Services, Airport Operations, Finance and Accounts, Human Resources and Administration, Legal Services, Corporate Services, Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, and Special Duties. These appointments signify a concerted effort to fortify airport infrastructure and service delivery.

 

 

Moreover, the creation of a new Directorate for Cargo Services at FAAN underscores the commitment to optimizing cargo operations and addressing pertinent issues within the aviation cargo domain.
