Ahead of the February 3 Yobe East bye-election, Governor Mai Mala Buni has charged stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other political appointees to deliver their polling units to the party.

The Governor who made the charge on Sunday during a fundraising dinner declared the “Operation Deliver Your Polling Unit”, to ensure a landslide victory for the ruling APC in the bye-election.

Buni also urged the stakeholders to remain grateful to God for the positions they are occupying while seeking their support for the party’s candidate, Musa Mustapha.

The governor also noted that the fundraising dinner underscored the unity and peace existing among leaders and party stakeholders in Yobe which has earned the state the pride of the APC.

He said: “Yobe APC is one big united progressives and happy family. You can see that all our leaders and stakeholders have come together in support of our candidate for the Yobe East by-election. Whoever is working to destroy this family God will destroy him.”

Yusuf Ali, the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Communications and Strategy made this known in a statement on Monday morning.

According to Ali, Buni expressed confidence that party stakeholders and supporters in Yobe East Senatorial District (Zone A) will work together as one united family to ensure a landslide victory for the APC on election day.

At the end of the fundraising dinner, over N600 million was realised in support of the campaign and election of the APC candidate, Musa Mustapha.

The statement by Ali partly reads: “In their separate remarks, the former governor of Yobe state, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam and Minister of Police Affairs and the President of the Ninth Senate, Senator Ahmad Lawan stressed that Hon. Musa Mustapha is well-positioned and sufficiently experienced to represent the people of Yobe East Senatorial District and advocate for their needs in the National Assembly.

“The Chairman APC Yobe State, Hon. Mohammed Gadaka, therefore, tasked the state and local government party stakeholders to take the message to their wards and villages and ensure that APC secures landslide victory at the polling units on the election day.”
