Napoli Set To Sack Coach, Walter Mazzarri, Confirms Francesco Calzona As Replacement

Walter Mazzarri is close to the exit door at Napoli.

Three months after Rudi Garcia lost his job as head coach of the Seria A club, his replacement Walter Mazzarri is set to face the same fate.

The club has confirmed this officially, and the contract between Napoli and Mazzarri’s replacement, Francesco Calzonahas been signed and sealed.

The sack and replacement are happening ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash between Napoli and FC Barcelona.

The Serie A Champions has not had a very impressive season. In their last 5 matches, they have won 1, lost 2, and tied 2 matches.

Recall that Rudi Garcia lost his head coach job following a poor streak of results from the Seria A champions.

Mazzarri’s replacement, Calzona also doubles as Slovakia’s head coach and will retain his job with Slovakia’s national team.

Sources have confirmed that the first training for Napoli since the replacement and signing will take place tomorrow.
