Update from the Actors Guild of Nigeria: it has been confirmed that Nollywood legend, John Okafor, also known as Mr Ibu has passed away after reportedly suffering a cardiac arrest.

 

This heartbreaking news comes on the same day that actress Kate Henshaw‘s mother has also passed away.

 

The announcement was made by Emeka Rollas Ejezie, the National President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

 

The actor had been battling health issues since October 2023 and had undergone multiple surgeries that led to the amputation of his leg.

 

However, updates from his family in November indicated he was recovering.

 

The news of his death comes less than 24 hours after the demise of Quadri Oyebamiji popularly known as Sisi Quadri, another Veteran Nollywood Actor.

 

The entire industry mourns the loss of these two individuals and extends deepest condolences to their families and loved ones.
